I read an article "The Wisdom Years".
The main topic of the textbook was mental. The book said optimism, gratitude, proactive, and to embrace learning and change were keys to get ourselves to live longer. I thought those factors were like advice and the secret of staying young.
The article told about what has been happening ( and what is going to happen) in the world. That is "aging and a decreasing number of children." The article reported the facts and the expectancy with data.
Advice and facts are not the same things, so I think the textbook and the article showed different points of aging.

2. Effects that consumerism had on our society..
I think our minds would go just for new things. There are many things in Japan especially in cities. That is because we people seek things following our desires. Industry is encouraged by consumers, and makes numerous things for them. The more we have, the more we want... I think it is a waste of resources. Consumers nowadays including myself buy one after another, and there are many garbage. The garbage cause many problems: air pollution etc. That is not just a Japanese problem, but a worldwide problem. We must care about it seriously. I think we should remind ourselves of "MOTTAINAI" spirit.

I think the author wants to feel and see her parents culture by herself. I'm not in case like the author, but I would try to know my parents background if I were in her case. The reason is because I was born from my parents, and I'm interested in how my parents went through in their childhoods. She is in American culture, but she is still a Chinese. she might want to find out what Chinese( her ancesters) are.
Coming to terms with our own cultural identity is important for me. I have moved a few times, and every place is valuable. All of them is in Japan, but I think there are some differences in each. Every place made me what I am now. ... My answer could be different if I were in the author's case.

I was born in 1992, which is about the middle of the Millennial Generation. Honestly, I think I'm a half of the Millennial. I certainly have lived with technologies: computer, video games and so on. I do think about my family above myself. And I have been told about many kinds of problems like global warming as a result of the industrialization etc. Our generation have much knowledge of many things. However, I'm not used to using computer as many of my friends are. I would write something by my own hands rather than by using computer. I mean I like analogue things. Many people might think I am strange, but I am what I described. That is why I consider myself a half of the Millennial.

Hello, my name is Ikuko.
I'm from Shizuoka and I live in Yokohama at the moment.
However, I sometimes rush in the morning.
I like to playing sports, but I don't play any sports now.
Then, I love food!! Therefore, I always think about food...
I can't decide what my favorite food is.
I think reading is not easy.
We have to summarize the content of writing.
It is difficult for me to do that.
I'd like to get used to summarizing.
In addition, being able to read fast and correctly is also my objective.
I need to practice in the class.
